CARE Program
The "Coins that Add Relief and Enable" (CARE) Program was created to provide a means to permit customers of the City's Utility System who are willing to give a small amount on a monthly basis by "rounding up" their monthly utility charges to the next whole dollar to assist customers of the City's utility system who are in need of assistance.
How To Opt Out

How to Apply for Assistance
- Lighthouse Ministries will begin to take applications for this program starting July 1, 2024.
- Applicants will need to call the Lighthouse Ministries office at (843) 629-0830 during the following hours starting July 1, 2024:
- Mondays through Thursdays 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, Fridays 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
- During the initial phone call there will be a pre-screening to determine eligibility based on the City of Florence Round Up “Coins that Add Relief and Enable” (CARE) Program Guidelines.
- Once eligibility is determined, an interview will be scheduled for a later date.
