Emergency Preparedness/Risk Management

The Emergency Preparedness/Risk Management Division works with all departments within the City of Florence in these separate areas.

Emergency Preparedness involves planning and preparing all departments to work within the framework of the National Incident Management System if a major incident were to occur in Florence. Major incidents are those requiring coordination and control of a large number of resources in order to return to normal conditions as soon as possible after an incident.

Risk Management works to minimize liability on behalf of the City of Florence through employee training, developing programs for OSHA compliance, and processing liability claims.

Start preparing by Making A Plan | Ready.gov

After an emergency, you may need to survive on your own for several days. Being prepared means having your own food, water and other supplies to last for at least 72 hours. A disaster supplies kit is a collection of basic items your household may need in the event of an emergency. Use this link for more information: Build an Emergency Kit
