Athletes from the Florence Track Club competed in the 2024 USA Track & Field South Carolina (USATF-SC) Association Junior Olympic Championship on June 21-23, 2024 hosted at the
Florence Sports Complex in the city of Florence, SC.

First through third place finishers won the gold, silver, and bronze medal, while fourth through eighth place finishers won ribbons.

The top 16 overall in each event for each age division are eligible to compete in the USATF Region 4 Junior Olympic Championship on July 4-7, 2024 in Ellenwood, GA. From there, athletes will have a chance to advance to the USATF National Junior Olympic Championship July 22-28, 2024 in College Station, TX.

Florence Gymnastics and the City of Florence was represented by 4 Xcel Silver gymnasts, 1 Level 6 gymnast and 1 Level 4 gymnast at the South Carolina State Meets! We faced the hardest competition within our state and we are so proud of our girls for coming out on top!

Level 6, Elianna, competed against 13 gymnasts in her age group and placed;

Congratulations to the Florence Youth Basketball League 8U All Stars for their State Championship win at the South Carolina Recreation & Parks Association Basketball State Championships this past weekend in Pickens, SC.

The City of Florence Youth Basketball Program is proud to announce the participation of three teams in the upper state this weekend, competing for the SCAP State Championship. The 17u All-Star team secured victory over Myrtle Beach, clinching the Eastern District title. Similarly, the 14u team triumphed over Latta to claim the Eastern District crown and advance to the State Tournament. Not to be outdone, the 8u team emerged victorious against Sumter at Pearl Moore Basketball Center to seize the Eastern District title and earn their spot in the State Championship.

Each team is set to commence their journey in the double elimination tournament on Saturday, March 2nd. Below are the locations and first game details for each team:

• 17u All-Star Team: Central-Clemson Recreation Center, Central, SC - 10am vs Central-Clemson
• 14u Team: Central-Clemson Recreation Center, Central, SC  - 10am vs the winner of the Central-Clemson vs Seneca Winner
• 8u Team: Cheri Anthony  Recreation Center, Pickens, South Carolina - 11:15am  vs Bluffton

Congratulations to the Florence Junior Football League 8U All Stars for their State Championship win at the South Carolina Recreation & Parks Association Football State Championships this past weekend at West Florence High School.

The City of Florence Athletics Department wants to say good luck to all of our athletes who will be competing tomorrow, December 9th.

Florence Junior Football League 8u will be competing at the South Carolina Recreation & Parks Association Football State Championships at 9am at West Florence High School.

Florence Junior Football League 10u will be competing at the South Carolina Recreation & Parks Association Football State Championships at 1pm at West Florence High School.

Florence Track Club has 4 athletes competing in the USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.

The City of Florence Athletics/Sports Tourism will host the South Carolina Recreation & Parks Association Football State Championships this weekend at West Florence High School. Games will begin at 9am (see schedule below), and gates will open at 7:45am.

Admission fee is $6 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 are free.

Two of our local teams will be playing - Florence Junior Football League 8U and 10U.
