Florence Track Club Athletes Shine at USATF Region 4 Championships—Next Stop: Nationals!

The City of Florence welcomed teams and unattached athletes from South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida as they competed in the 2025 USATF Region 4 Junior Olympic Championships July 3-6! Athletes who placed in the top 25 in their USATF State Championship were eligible to compete in the USATF Region 4 Championship. On the final day of the championship, the track meet moved from a timed schedule to a rolling schedule while Tropical Storm Chantal blew her presence on athletes' times and marks. Meet results indicate that athletes had to run, jump, and throw in headwinds reaching up to -5.1 m/s!

Cynthia Bellinger, Head Coach, stated, "The wind took some people out, but a few were still able to set a PR [personal record], which is amazing." Athletes who placed in the top 8 in the Region 4 Championship have qualified to compete in the 2025 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships July 21-27 at Savannah State University.
