Mayor and City Council to Hold Press Conference in Response to Recent Shootings

FLORENCE, SC –  In light of the recent shootings that have impacted our community, Mayor Lethonia Barnes and members of the Florence City Council will hold a press conference to address the public and provide updates on the city’s response. The press conference will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 3:00pm in City Council Chambers, 1st Floor at the City Center, 324 W. Evans Street. 

Mayor Barnes, and City Council members, will speak to the city’s immediate response efforts,  and upcoming public safety initiatives. Officials will also reaffirm their commitment to the safety and well-being of all residents and outline steps being taken to prevent further violence.
