Florence Fair Housing Analysis - Community Survey

Florence Fair Housing Analysis - Community Input

Now through May 31, 2021, the City of Florence is conducting an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice as a part of its obligation for receiving funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The City is providing this short survey in an effort to obtain feedback from the public about housing discrimination. By completing this survey, you will help us to identify the fair housing challenges that may exist in your community. Your input is valuable and your responses will directly impact community development decisions.

The Fair Housing Act is meant to protect people from discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, familial status (presence of children), and disability when they are renting or buying a home, getting a mortgage, seeking housing assistance, or engaging in other housing-related activities. Examples of housing discrimination include any of the following actions because of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin:

- Refuse to rent or sell housing
- Set different sales prices or rental rates for the sale or rental of a dwelling
- Provide a person different housing services or facilities
- Fail to make reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities
- Set rules that discriminate against children

The survey should only take five (5) minutes or less of your time. No personal identifying information will be collected in connection with this survey. All responses will be compiled and analyzed (aggregated) as a group to identify any conditions that may hinder housing opportunities for City residents.  Please click on the link below to complete the survey.  Thank you for your participation!
