City of Florence to Hold Investiture for Newly Appointed Municipal Court Judge

FLORENCE, SC:

The City of Florence will hold the Investiture for Alesha E. Lewis on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 6:00pm in City Council Chambers at the City Center, 324 W. Evans Street. Ms. Lewis will serve as a part-time judge in the Municipal Court. She graduated from Latta High School, received her BA from Francis Marion University, and then obtained an Associates in Applied Science Paralegal from Florence Darlington Technical College and a Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University School of Law.


The Honorable Debra O. Jackson serves as the Chief Administrative Judge overseeing the criminal and livability courts. In addition to Ms. Lewis, there are four other part-time Municipal Court Judges who were recently re-appointed by City Council:


The Honorable Rangeley Bailey
The Honorable Linward Edwards
The Honorable Nicholas W. Lewis
The Honorable Edgar Lloyd Willcox II


Councilman Chaquez T. McCall chaired Council’s Judicial Committee who selected Ms. Lewis and said, “He is proud of the hard work by the Judicial Committee and believes Ms. Lewis to be very knowledgeable of the law and an exceptional selection for the position of Municipal Court Judge”.
