FLORENCE, SC –   The City of Florence will hold a Groundbreaking Ceremony for two new fire stations on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 4:00pm.  The ceremony will take place at 860 Smith Drive, and parking is available next door at Carolina Bank (3037 W. Palmetto Street) as space on the site is limited.  The public is invited to attend but is encouraged to wear a mask when unable to social distance appropriately.

The total project cost for both fire station projects is $5.5 Million.  This total includes a new home for Station #4 (Ben Dozier Fire station) at 2224 W. Jody Road, and a new Station #6 on Smith Drive to accommodate growth on the west side of Florence.  Construction for the new stations was awarded to Hogan Construction and both stations are slated for completion in December.
