City of Florence Fire Department Conducts Annual Hydrant Testing

The City of Florence Fire Department inspects fire hydrants each year and flows hydrants once every three years.  The annual testing of hydrants provides the following for the City of Florence and it's residents:
  • Assists in maintaining Class 1 Insurance Rating
  • Ensures proper hydrant operation in the event of a fire
  • Familiarizes firefighters with hydrant locations
  • Assists in identifying maintenance issues with hydrants
  • Assists in removing sediment from the water system
Beginning May 24, 2017, the Fire Department will be conducting flow testing on fire hydrants located in the downtown area as well as the South Florence area.  This testing will take approximately a month to complete.
