PARKS & BEAUTIFICATION IMPROVEMENTS
MANDATORY PRE-SOLICITATION CONFERENCE
RE-ADVERTISEMENT

This re-advertisement is due to additional funding by the City of Florence City Council.  

Description:  The project scope would include the following:

1. Construction of a New Activity Building
2. Updates to Existing Activity Building
3. Construction of a New Picnic Shelter
4. Construction of Three Basketball Courts
5. Repairs to Existing Tennis Courts
6. Repair or Replacement of Two Shuffleboard Courts

This project will be funded by Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants.  It is subject to state & federal rules & regulations pertaining to CDBG as well as Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and the Davis Bacon Act to include the Section 3 clause of the Housing & Urban Development Act of 1968.  The City of Florence welcomes submissions from minority and woman owned businesses.  Please indicate that you are a minority or woman owned business on the sign-in sheet at the pre-solicitation conference. 

A mandatory pre-solicitation conference will be held Monday, December 7, 2009 at 10:00 AM.  The location of the pre-solicitation conference will be at Levy Park located at 356 Jeffords Street, Florence, SC  29501. 

Purpose of the Conference:  The purpose of the pre-solicitation conference is to have all interested companies view the current structure and to give the city any needed feedback on how to best accomplish the stated objective.  Any questions dealing with the procurement process will also be explained.  During the conference, the scope of work will be discussed and the proposal submission date will be disclosed.  Attendance at the pre-solicitation conference is required as a condition of submitting a proposal.  Proposals submitted by vendors not in attendance at the pre-solicitation conference will not be considered by the City of Florence.  

A performance and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required of the successful firm/contractor.
