Invitation to Bid No. 2012-06: Five Points Sewer Repair

The City of Florence is accepting sealed bids from licensed and qualified contractors for the Five Points Sewer Repair.
Time Limit – 60 Calendar Days
SCHEDULE OF QUANTITIES
Approximately 207 linear feet of 8” Gravity Sewer, 120 linear feet of bore and jack 20” steel casing, 3 manholes and related work.
BID OPENING DATE/TIME: Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.
LOCATION FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS: City/County Complex BB, Purchasing/ Contracting Office, 180 N. Irby Street, Room 602, Florence, SC. Electronic bids will not be accepted.
Bid forms, specifications, and plans are on file and may be reviewed at the office of the Engineer. These plans may be obtained for a nonrefundable plan cost of $125.00.

Each bidder must deposit with his bid a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid. A performance and payment bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required of each successful bidder.
In order to ensure a sincere and reasonable effort on the Contractor's part to accomplish the work in a timely fashion, delay damages due to inconveniences to the owner for work not being accomplished on time will be at the rate of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per day. The Contractor should realize that delays due to bad weather, materials, and such, not under the control of the Contractor will be considered by the Engineer for time extension.
No bid will be considered unless the bidder is legally qualified under the state of South Carolina Tax License and License requirements; S. C. Code 1952, Volume V, Chapter 8, Section 56-410 through Section 56-428, as amended.
No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date.
